Why PDF Pilot
Private by design
File processing runs in your browser. The page loads its processing libraries from a content delivery network, so an internet connection is needed to load the tools. Once loaded, your selected documents are not uploaded by the tools.
Honest conversion limits
PDF to Word rebuilds text into an editable document; it does not preserve exact page layout, and scanned pages need OCR. Word to PDF keeps extracted text but not the original Word styling. Review converted files before sharing.
No queues, no limits
See what was created and how large it is before downloading. PDF layout conversion has limits, and raster compression trades searchable text for smaller image based pages.
How it works
Pick a tool & add files
Choose a tool above, then drag in your PDF, Word document or images. You can reorder and remove files before you start.
Set your options
Page ranges, rotation, watermark text, compression level — each tool shows only the options that matter for it.
Download the result
Processing happens instantly on your device. Download a single file, or a ZIP when a tool produces several pages or images.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
Processing happens locally in this browser tab; the tools do not upload your selected documents. The page does download its JavaScript libraries from a CDN when it loads. Avoid using the site on a shared or untrusted device for sensitive files.
Is PDF Pilot really free?
There is no account or checkout in this version. Processing is limited by the available memory and capabilities of your device and browser.
Why does PDF to Word sometimes differ from the original layout?
A PDF stores positioned text, not paragraphs. PDF Pilot rebuilds lines and paragraphs from the text positions and font sizes in your PDF, and marks larger text as headings and bold runs where the font indicates it. Very complex layouts with columns and tables may need small tidy-ups in Word.
What is the maximum file size?
There is no fixed limit set by PDF Pilot. Large documents may run slowly or exceed available browser memory, especially during image rendering. Try fewer pages or a smaller file if processing fails.
Can I use PDF Pilot offline or on my phone?
Yes — the tools work in any modern mobile or desktop browser. An internet connection is needed the first time the page loads its libraries; after that, processing itself needs no connection.
